Re: New Members of the forum Introduce yourself
New the to forum. Not a skater myself (rollerblading injury circa 1996 damaged leg and back) but bought this curious board for my kids about 10 years ago. It's a metal Morris Vulcan flyer (model R288 according to the advert from the late 1970s). Can't imagine it was kind to it's original owner's knees. It's a bit bruised and battered itself, partly from the invention of "skateboard jousting" (both kids still have eyes but I doubt it will be an Olympic sport any time soon). Wondered if it is collectible?

Re: New Members of the forum Introduce yourself
Hi Guys been on here for a while but not seen this page so here goes , skated ( poorly ) in the 70s in Mansfield where i grew up and still live. No skate parks so had to make do with homemade ramps and some slight inclines that were under the 4 seasons car park ramp. Still do a bit of skating now occasionally but still crap. I got into collecting about ten years back and mainly collect Nos and slightly used 70s stuff from my era. I’ve got about 30 complete setups from a broad range of bands. I’ve also got a few Tributes decks which I was very fortunate to get off master craftsman Paul Philips , his work is amazing as you all probably know. I’ll post some pictures once I know how to. Any help on posting pictures would be appreciated. Oh you might know me as Firekill66 on ebay as I’ve bought and sold on there for a good few years. Cheers Daz

your nearly a neighbour,im in lincoln and spent most weekends at the malibu dogbowl, ive only ever managed to find a handful of pics of it and the small feature in the mag, shame as id love to see more
Re: New Members of the forum Introduce yourself
Yeah I’d a loved to go to Malibu dog bowl but I was a bit young to go on me own on the bus ( Billy no mates
) and me dad was too tight to take me in the car. I do know one lad who used to go though who I used to work with in the fire service and he said he went loads a times with his mates and said it was ace
. I know there was also a skatepark in Sheffield too but never went there either
. There was a guy who used to stand Mansfield Market with a skateboard stand for a year or two , not sure if he did any others. I upgraded my Makaha to one of his plywood deck he used to sell and I’ve still got it here’s a pic.

Hiya daz I think I've had a few bits off you off eBay a while back
Re: New Members of the forum Introduce yourself
Unfortunately I through out the original wheels which were generic translucent red a few years before I got into collecting but the GT wheels are a pretty close match.
I’ll post some more photos of my collection asap now I know how to do it.
