It's the ONLY prototype of the downhill/speed board made. No inset badge, only one on the planet. He's had it since '78. Should receive it tomorrow/Wednesday. Grip tape scraps from the floor of the Benjy factory! Bit of damage to the nose but....

I'll post better pics when it arrives! :)

place your bets, what do you think these will fetch? extremely rare but in that condition id have been out at £50  they will obviously go to someone who has a well used board to complete the period set up no doubt , im guessing at £150 anymore would be lunacy

I have a feeling these are ones I previously owned, if not they were in very similar condition, they went back and forth between me and Peter Gill (Skateboardzoo) a few times I think about 20 years ago 😂

I’m not sure who Edenbridge Window Systems is but pretty sure I have dealt with him on eBay relatively recently

Worth £150 all day, on rarity value alone , I’d say they would go for more if it wasn’t close to Christmas

who was it that had those plastic versions made? they dont fit as good as the original metal ones as i seem to remember they leave a slight gap on the corners

It might make sense if it was Simon @ sgl he was sitting with a load of Sablosky’s with out the stickers and White-lightening decks maybe he had Comp II’s as well. Although I don’t recall them but they could have been bought up before I got to hear of his shop. You could certainly buy them on eBay at a time.

My thoughts are that my board (from Marc Sinclair) was their first speed board prototype and the ply bottom is another phase they were trying as a cost reduction by using the birch bottom much like they did with the 40” Carver, which also started out with full striped bottom. Marc has pics of him riding one in France in ‘78
